Douglas, Betty Iris (nee Winstone)
Peacefully at the Avalon Care Center, Orangeville on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late George Douglas (2006). Dear mother of Elizabeth Harding, Anne Zvonkin and her husband Paul, and Alexander and his wife Noelette. Proud grandmother of Scott Harding and D.J. Harding. Loving great-grandmother of Patricia and Ethan. Predeceased by her sister Mary Coates of England and her sister-in-law Betty Potter of Scotland. Betty will be lovingly remembered for her dedication to family and friends. She provided selfless, dependable service to many Orangeville community organizations, including Tweedsmuir Presbyterian Church, Headwaters Hospital Auxiliary, the Horticultural Society and the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Avalon Care Centre staff for their care and compassion.

Funeral Service will be held at Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre 21 First St., Orangeville on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations to Tweedsmuir Presbyterian Church or Headwaters Hospital Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Betty in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com
