John was, I think, my favourite ‘Dad’ of all my friends. He would sometimes join Dave and me skiing or running or cottaging and always added some quiet fun (and useful advice) whenever he participated. I was delighted to know him a bit and I know he was Dave’s steadying foundation. Such a classy life lived by a classy man.

What a sad day when I heard of Johns passing, I have known John for a few years, worked with him at the Peel Village golf course, and we enjoyed many Thursday morning breakfasts together and great conversations. What a super , gentle, kind man he was.
I will miss him dearly
