Obituary

Cameron, Donald Alvin
Gone home be with his Lord on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis Cameron (2018). Dear father of Donald (Debbie), Stuart (2012) (Corinne) and Malcolm (Sandy). Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth (Ryan), Megan (Joshua), Mark, Matt, Rebecca, MacKenzie, and Brayden. Dearest great-grandfather of Abbey, Noah, Leona and James. Predeceased by his siblings Douglas, Marjorie, Constance, Lorna, Esther, Cecil, Vera, Phyllis and Effie. Don will also be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends. Dad had a successful career of 36 years at Bell Canada. A two year term in Saudi Arabia, changed his thoughts on freedom to worship and the privilege it is to be a Canadian. Following retirement Dad and Mom moved to Orangeville to a bungalow. He served at the Orangeville Baptist Church (Compass) for 30 years with the gifts the Lord had blessed him with. Dad has been a member with the Gideon's since 1962 and was still delivering New Testaments to schools at the young age of 85. He led a fruitful life that was directed by his Lord and Saviour.

Funeral Service will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Friday March 1, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. with visitation beginning 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations to Gideon's International Canada would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Donald in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. The annual dedication service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.dodsandmcnair.com

I was privileged to get to know Don when he served as a volunteer with the Spiritual Care Program at Headwaters Health Care Centre. He was a compassionate and wise man and I know he will be missed greatly by his family. My thoughts and prayers are with those who mourn his passing. He has heard the words of God, "Well done, good and faithful servant." He has entered into eternal rest and joy. Reverend Barbara Moulton
